Have you ever seen the show Better Off Ted?
It’s fun viewing if you can find it streaming somewhere.
First of all it’s hilarious workplace comedy that I highly recommend if you want a good laugh. And you’ll probably be able to relate to sooo many of the stories!
It’s also a great, albeit satirical, view, into the dynamics of organizations and the people in them.

(The main boss character, played by Portia de Rossi, has some of the best one liners I’ve ever heard.).
The characters spend a good amount of time managing their manager. Often with humorous consequences.
You may spend a good amount of your energy doing that too – or at least trying to. Managing up is a critical success skill in anyone’s career. But maybe you think it feels a little more like “sucking up.”
