It’s because most organizations measure performance in at least these two ways:

 

  • The deliverables you achieve
  • The way you achieve them

 

So that means it’s not only what you do, but how you do it that plays into the assessment process.

 

How you get along with others, how you show up on the team, and how you play the game in the context of the organization – all matter.
