Why Rainy Days Are Good For Your Career

Did you ever notice how hard it is to stay focused in the summer when it’s warm, sunny and delicious outside?

It’s definitely hard for me.

And there’s good reason for that. It turns out that in general, you’re more productive and less error-prone on bad weather days, than you are on sunny ones.

In multiple studies, the bottom line is that bad weather is good for productivity. In one specifically, “Bad weather was found to be associated with increased speed and accuracy.”

So, what to do about this weather conundrum?

In this week’s TheMuse.com column, I share 3 weather-driven strategies for being more productive at work.

And no matter what the weather where you are, remember this:

“Don’t knock the weather. If it didn’t change once in a while, nine out of ten people couldn’t start a conversation.”

– Kim Hubbard

When you make things happen in ANY weather, you’re working the Positive Shift.
